It's not a scale replica of a Big Boy that Phil Condit donated.
Given all the other programs that MAR has underway I'd be surprised it ever operates.
You have them seeking donations for this steam locomotive replica, the relocation of grandiose model railroad layout that was donated by a Dallas collector, the restoration of the Alco PA hulk, the construction of a major depot structure, and who knows what else. The museum keeps getting more stuff than they can ever take care of---all stored out in the open except for the office and indoor display space it mooches off the non-railroad Frisco Heritage Museum.
The museum is only open by tours on selected days. There is no official sign directions to the museum like other attractions in town. It shows a tacit lack of recognition by the city of Frisco that the museum is a full-fledged attraction.
