Reminds me of when everyone was raving about Jack Welch and the "GE Way" of doing things. Ol' Jack could do no wrong and every CEO wanted to emulate him. When people would go one about him, I'd often suggest it was more a case of "Right guy, right place, right time" more than anything else. Of course most executive types always raved about hoe brilliant Jack was. I don't believe Jack in his prime could turn around GE right now.
