Good posts Bob2 as usual. However there is more to this story than has been revealed. I am not free to divulge anything at this point but I have been in contact with the attorney for the defense and if I am right (based on first hand knowledge) and other facts I am not privy to do not surface I believe the engineer will be found not guilty and other parties on two railroads will have something to answer for.

I'd call it extreme negligence and yes, money was involved.
