JBHuntService Advisory Update: CSX Congestion and Delays
November 21, 2017
Since our last update on October 13, CSX has continued its efforts to fully implement the Precision Scheduled Railroading model. During this time, adjustments to trains, switching and blocking processes, published schedules, ramp operations, and lane offerings have continued. Regrettably, the numerous changes, combined with peak season volumes, have resulted in an extended degradation of service since the slight improvement observed post-Hurricane Irma.
Shipments continue to be delayed throughout the CSX network, with significant delays being experienced at the following locations:
Jacksonville – up to 72+ hour delays
Central Florida – up to 48 hour delays
Tampa – up to 24+ hour delays
Atlanta (Hulsey) – up to 72+ hour delays
Atlanta (Fairburn) – 24 to 72 hour delays
Savannah – 48 to 72+ hour delays
Charlotte – 24 to 72+ hour delays, due to Atlanta congestion
Memphis – 48 to 72+ hour delays
Louisville – 24 to 72+ hour delays
Chicago (Bedford Park) – 24 to 48 hour delays
Chicago (59th Street) – 24 to 48+ hour delays
If temporary alternative routing options are required, please contact your J.B. Hunt representative. J.B. Hunt will continue to monitor this evolving situation and provide updates as they become available. Customer service is extremely important to J.B. Hunt and we apologize for any inconvenience.
