Yep -- The MUNI Day pass is your friend. Last time the wife and I visited The City, the day pass was $15.00, so a cable car roundtrip almost paid for everything else we rode, including the Embarcadero streetcars and MUNI trolleys. We bought ours at the MUNI ticket shack near the main cable car stop on Market Street.
