If you circle around to look the other way in the google street view image, that small shanty on the west side of the grade crossing was where Modoc crews waited for a Greyhound deadhead home to Klamath Falls. Jack Bowden told me that the building had a light on the roof that was a sign for the bus driver to stop and pick you up.
