Traction Effort "Boosting" Unit (aka TEBU;s), which we always considered kind of a joke name, weren't really needed so much for tractive effort at West Colton, and much as six more axles of added braking were needed to control the cuts, when you were "on the red" after they missed every other pin. There was a good reason Delellis kept the Taylor hump going for almost ten more years: better car counts.
