Too bad! I remember wife (to-be) and me waking up suddenly as Antibes was announced with a two minute dwell. Our destination! Mad rush ensued as we jumped out of our bunks, shoved our backpacks out the window onto the platform, and alighted in bare feet holding our shoes in our hands with not a second to spare as the train pulled away to Nice.
Other train de nuit memory: leaning my head out the side hallway window looking ahead at the block signals dropping as the locomotive (a 22200 motor) snaked between the Esterel mountains and the sea. On a long fast straight I felt a slight mist as the wind whipped my face, and realized that in the perfect evening weather, these droplets could only have come from the toilet downspout. Ew.
