Speaking of the Palouse River canyon, is there an "official" trail that one can hike from Lyon's Ferry to Palouse Falls to breaks by Highway 26 near Hooper Junction? I've done some trail running from Lyon's Ferry north (alongside Joso siding) to the site of the cave paintings, and from Palouse Falls State Park south for a few miles (a faint dirt road on the west side of the railroad). But I could not locate a trail from Joso's north end to the falls, nor can I locate a trail from Palouse Falls on north, nor can I locate a trailhead south off old Highway 26 to the mouth of the canyon. Needless to say I'm a little leary of utilizing the railroad's ROW or gated private roads to access locations I've always wanted to see such as Little Palouse Falls.
Any suggestions?
