Re: Why can’t we even have this from LA-SD?

We really don't need it between LA and SFO, since there turned out to be no "intrastate" aviation airport capacity "crisis", as was wrongly predicted, and used to justify this project in the mid 1990's.

We do need improved access into our major urban centers from nearby urban centers, which rail services could supply with 110-125 mph. services in the Valley between centers and into the Bay area, between Monterey and the Sacramento urbanized area, along the coast, especially LOSSAN, and from the Southern California exurbs into the metro core, like from the high desert and low desert, over the passes, and into the LA basin.

This set of priorities could make 110-125 mph rail services one of the most practical and cost effective options. And, this thesis is proven every day, in the observed massive now all day "rush hour" congested freeway conditions in all of those corridors.

So yes, we really should put more emphasis and resources into being able to get from LAX to SD in 2 hours and 30 minutes, than wasting 65 billion to get from LAX to SFO in 2 hours and 30 minutes.........to save us from the non-existent intrastate aviation capacity crisis.....?

So what? This fiasco will still continue to suck up scarce transportation dollars like the sorcerer's apprentice, because no one seems to have the magic words to make it stop.

This State Rail Plan is a bigger joke than the last one from Caltrans Division of Fail, which is based upon no clearly identified or defined transportation defined "purpose and/or need".

The Division of Fail's latest proposed plan offers no real or realistic alternatives, even missing major proposed and needed projects like the Palm Springs/Indio extension completely.

Therefore, in the absence of any real political ownership or responsibility, it is really quite likely that this CHSRA waste and stupidity will continue unabated, offering all of us voters and taxpayers still more proof, that we clearly do have the best government that money can buy..........

I have predicted, for several years now, that when SANDAG completes the Camp Pendleton DT project on LOSSAN south, that Sou Cal will see the first component of 110 HSR, on that segment, well before any equipment is even ordered for this bloated, wasteful, and mismanaged CAHSRA fiasco.
