Just as a point of info, tracks still pass the Valley Mall, they are those of the Spokane International now operated by Union Pacific and see quite a bit of traffic. They Valley Mall IHOP has some tables that look towards the tracks. The Valley Hospital is on the other side of the freeway from the SI/UP and former GN right of way. The locals and the state are attempting to relocate the SI/UP as part of their bridge the valley program so at some point in the very distant future those tracks will be removed. (UP is to operate on BNSF if the plan ever takes off.)
