California hit 40 million souls. Figure out your favorite percentage multiplier for the growth over the past 50 years and then multiply it times 40 mil. Pretty horrible future for the progeny crammed into BART beercan cattle cars. They'll ghetto the Northbay too.

French tv last nite ran a story about a rattletrap but only 30 year old highrise tenement in the banlieue with all the elevators perenially non-functional. One old guy about my age with bad legs they interviewed had not been down on the ground in 2 years.
