Yup, oh those damn trucks, sorry to offend, but if the truckers were paying the full cost of their wear and tear I would feel sorry for the truckers, but where the fees and taxes---at the absolute best----pay 16.7% of the cost of their wear and tear (In Washington they cover less of the cost) I don't feel the least bit sorry for them. Then there is the issue of obeying hours of service and weight limits. Last harvest in Whitman County the Washington State Patrol was widely criticized for setting up scales and inspection points---no matter that less than 10% of the trucks were within limits of weight and safety. This year they were instructed NOT to set up scales and inspections.
