Ever heard of the Coalition Against Bigger Trucks (CABT)? Mostly funded by the RR's.

Weird how we don't hear of Canadian bridges collapsing with their GVW limits well over 120,000 lbs, huh?
But you are bringing up an interesting point - namely that publicly owned ROW's should have stricter weight limits. Hmmmmmm, should that philosophy also apply to the State of Washington owned lines as well? Should we restict the EWG to 264k or even 220k railcars? Or do we make the logical choice of accepting an increase in ROW wear and tear expense in return for greater economic efficiencies, regardless of whether it is a road, rail line, or waterway?
