The only way to fix the problem would to completely eliminate the current bridge and build a longer bridge that would cross I-5 in a more southerly direction greatly reducing the curvature. The speed would still need to be reduced as the line re-enters the BNSF mainline within a short distance. There is also another curve right reentering the BNSF mainline which could only be straightened with great expense and moving Nisqually Rd SW. I still have great doubts of the benefits of this line for Amtrak, especially without solving these problems.
