Why 'the only way'?
What are the RoW constraints?
If, as you say, the re-entry to BNSF requires a slowdown, is there a reason that the curves could not be swept outward , then to the bridge at larger radii?
Not a 79 mph straight, but perhaps some transition at say 60 mph? or ??
