Conclusions are the product of both opinion and fact. Opinions are subjective, affected by bias. Everyone is biased to some degree. The "independent experts" hired by insurance companies to defend injury claims are biased. BNSF, Amtrak, Sounder, WSDOT, are all biased. Injured employees, passengers, and their survivors and representatives are biased. The NTSB is biased. Industry veterans are biased. I am biased, and so are you.
The trick is to distinguish between fact and opinion. A statement of fact is either true or it is false (whether intentionally false or not). My question was simply, in light of your experience and training, is there any false statement of fact in that article. The reader can give the writer's opinion whatever weight it is worth.
