Howard:
As a Pittsburgh dude, I am pleased to see a thread start off with an illustration of a Pittsburgh trolley scene.
Pittsburgh is blessed to have to local artists offering paintings of Pittsburgh scenes with trolleys. The other is Linda Barnicott. The following are a couple of examples of her work:
Holiday Memories Under Kauffmann's Clock
Kauffman's was Pittsburgh's main department store until 2006 when it was taken over by Macy's. The downtown store shown in this painting was closed in 2015 and will be repurposed as a mixed use development. The Kauffman's clock was a popular meeting place.
Pittsburgh's Holiday Homecoming
This painting shows a streetcar entering Downtown Pittsburgh on Liberty Avenue as it passes the Pennsylvania Railroad Station. The station building has been converted to apartments and condominiums. Amtrak uses a modest facility below the main building.
Happy Holidays to you, Howard
