Christmas and trains

Different times...different memories:
Christmas 1958: Getting my first Lionel train!
Christmas 1972-75: A day or two after finishing my fall exams, boarding the Sunset Limited in New Orleans bound for Houston and connecting a day later with the Texas Chief (or Lone Star).
Christmas 1978-1984: Boarding the Coast Starlight at San Jose, then connecting in L.A. either with the Sunset Limited for San Antonio or with the Southwest Limited for Albuquerque.
Christmas 1989(or was it 1990?): Enjoying the Grand Canyon Rwy. behind steam in a wonderland of snow.
