'big city disease'

Does the pied piper of global warming know about this?

What is the train angle you ask? Simple, rail lines are being built not to make life better for those already here but to encourage a lot more people here. Quite often a lot more richer people. So if you vote to tax yourself for "infrastructure" like HSR you may be just gentrifying yourself out of your longtime neighborhood. You may find yourself not good enough for it any more in the elite's opinion.

My argument for "moderate" improvements like 3 car light rail trains instead of 10 cattlecar BART trains or instead of base tunnels to Palmdale to sprawl and urbanize the high desert. Alternately, if you want to spend many billions to achieve 200mph trains to compete with airlines take the direct route not a detour.
