1) Someone who identifies himself as "boiling water" or "cool water" or some kind of water on AP and another railfan internet discussion group states that he has been all wrong about the manager of Union Pacific's steam program and now meets up with him on a regular basis for beers and Buffalo chicken wings.

2) Cosmopolitan Magazine will publish an article advising its readers to seek out railfans because they make fantastic romantic partners. The article will include a sidebar telling its readers where to go to meet railfans.

3) AP commentators will continue to whine about California even though it remains the best state for railfanning.

4) The 50th anniversary of the Penn Central merger will be observed on February 1.
