It's not. Got it backwards.
It was high nickle steel boilers that
had severe cracking issues. Do not know if the
6000s had those or not when new. Carbon steel is
much more "boiler friendly" than nickle steel, and
is the reason that so many nickle steel boilers were
replaced with carbon steel boilers.
