Ran across this news report about a log truck overturned on highway 101 near Legett, CA. The report made me think about log truck traffic on hwy 101.
Ignorant question time:
Is there significant log truck traffic?
Are the principle mills the ones mentioned in the NWP/Willits thread below?
Can railroads realistically get a piece of this action?

At least one lane of Highway 101 in northern Mendocino County was closed for more than four hours Tuesday morning when a logging truck overturned near Leggett, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, a 49-year-old Boonville man was hauling logs in a 2009 Kenworth semi-truck northbound on Highway 101 just north of Hwy. 1 around 5 a.m. Jan. 9 when, for reasons still under investigation, the truck left the roadway and hit a concrete bridge rail and power pole.
The semi-truck overturned, spilling the logs onto the highway and completely blocking the northbound lane. Traffic was diverted to the southbound lane.
The driver sustained minor injuries and declined medical transport.
Caltrans reported at 9:25 a.m. that all lanes had been reopened.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
