I have two brother-in-laws that have their own logging trucks. I have ridden with them and even driven a few loads from the deck to the mill.
It is just like the railroad. You keep your equipment in good shape and stay safe. What bugs them most is when other truckers get out on the highway and don't follow the laws. If you are supposed to chain up, CHAIN UP! If its time for 3 railers, its time. I can't count the times when it is snowing out and you see a trucker that doesn't chain up and then winds up blocking all the lanes when his trailer slides away and then so does his tractor.
Its funny, each state is different. Washington requires 3 wrappers and Oregon 4.
