Jeff comes up with the best stuff. That's a great map and it depicts some interesting things.
Everything north is Green Diamond, the new name for Simpson Lands. Everything south is Humboldt Redwood which is the new name for Pacific Lumber after they were bought by Mendocino.
I think Mad River is the old Arkley operation, Blue Lake Forest Products. They are gone.
Arcata Forest Products I believe is Almquist Lumber, the Victorian molding and specialty products company and they are still there. Sierra Pacific is gone. Schmidtbauer bought the California Redwood Mill in Korbel. California Redwood was the new name Simpson was hiding behind before pulling the plug on Humboldt County. It was an interesting choice of a name because it was originally the name of the Scottish Syndicate redwood land fraud of the 1880's that was depicted in such movies as "The Big Trees" starring Kirk Douglas in 1952. Oddly enough much of the land associated with that fraud is now the Redwood Creek watershed of Redwood National & State Parks.
