I still thing there needs to be come creative thinking here. I don't have the estimates right to hand, but assuming a subsidy were to be paid of an operator of the CW in order for him to make a decent return, it is my understanding that that ammount would be a great deal less then the cost of road maintenance to move grain by truck to either Ritzville or the Tri Cities. On one hand it may cost money to operate the rail line, but on the other hand the state saves money on road construction costs, and preserves a rail line that might have some potential.

Anyone know the carload projections for the Creston feed mill on the PCC?
