You have to give some points to the BBC for doing the story on it. The press here in the US wouldn't think it was important enough to report it. I wonder what could be a good US comparison. Almost all the diesel locomotives built in the US that are in museums seem to have one running in regular service somewhere. Maybe the UP borrowing the K-M in Niles Canyon for some temporary duty?
