I can remember someone at railfair 1999 telling me that the UP is the first Railroad Doyle contacted to ask for permission to run to Sacramento on this route for Railfair 99 and the management at that time said no. Then he ended up going to BNSF and worked out the trip with them to attend. Weather that story is true or not who knows. But that was back then, different people in charge in Omaha now.
