Anytime the #4449 moves anywhere out of the Museum complex and off Shortline Sammy's Oregon Pacific RR, the #4449 must travel over UP rails.

So trips to the Portland Union Station, and other excursions (to for instance, Bend OR) cannot happen without UP's agreement to permit #4449 on UP rails.


And note that aside from the UP connection between Oregon Pacific RR and the BNSF, UP still owns a portion of the "Inside Gateway" route between Wishram WA and Bend OR. Most of that line is now BNSF owned, but not all of it. When the #4449 runs to Bend, a portion of the trip on Inside Gateway rails south of OT Junction in Oregon (which is more or less at the south end of the BNSF Celilo bridge), is run over UP owned rails.
