The truth is out there. Although it did not stop the speculation and disinformation, this comment from OPRRMS was priceless!

Old Crow should be commended too for his immediate input.
Retired RR should have his RRB suspended and management pension cut off, (if any), for such a uninformed remark regarding the deaths of brother railroaders. Railroaders who until early this morning were contributing to his and everyone else's RRB. (Railroad Retirement). These railroaders are our bothers, management or labor or not, and they had families, co-workers and friends who morn their loss. Yes, something went wrong, but why immediately blame the crew with rash, uninformed comments? MAYBE this tragic accident COULD turn out to be a fault of the employees involved, but for now we do not know.
Media reports can be helpful, but remember the media is not what it used to be. Unfortunately journalists know too little about railroading, to consistently get the facts correct, nor to interpret what they have been told.
