Seems like my off the cuff estimate of around 75,000 passengers a month for SMART may be high. GGT's numbers recently rough out at around 250,000 per month. But down from previous years, which surprises me since SF employment has been so robust of late.

Clearly SMART needs to move south ASAP towards the City and needs to be absorbed by the GG Bridge District. The Bridge has the means to fend any BART-MTC broad gauge scheming against SMART. It is instructive that GGT bus service has never proceeded beyond Santa Rosa altho the District comprises counties all the way to Del Norte. The better ridership potential resides in southern Marin.
