George.....you are right. I remember those train numbers too. You could see most anything at the end of steam through Livermore.....1955-1957. The most striking thing I recall was an entire westbound of dead small power, 2-6-0's, 2-8-0's, 4-6-0's heading for the torch at Purdy Co. or Pacific States Steel. There were 3 or more 2-10-2's that sat in Tracy for months at the end of steam. One of photos of the SP depot in later years shows a pickup parked at the back of the building. That belonged to C.W. Tillbrook, the TO operator. A Mr. Kline, the Agent, lived upstairs. All that moved to East Pleasanton. The WP as a late comer had a ROW that occupied a couple of blocks of Oak Street east of the depot and some odd angled crossings at the east end of town. Lots of car collisions as a result, particularly the ally by the Brass Rail Saloon.
