The WP&Y actually had a mix of inside and outside frame locomotives. At least three WP&Y outside frame locomotives are still in existence that I know of. Two were buried as rip-rap along the Skagway River and were later unearthed. One of those, WPY 60, is still sitting on its side at the north end of the yard.

WPY 60

The other unearthed engine is in private hands.

Of course, WPY 69 is not only still in existence, she's still in operation. This year, she'll likely be the only steam engine until the 73 comes back from her 1,472 SDI, which is being done in the lower 48. Here's the 69 during the 2011 Rotary Run.

WPY 69

The 69 is definitely not what you'd call a handsome or pretty locomotive. It was built for one thing and one thing only: Pushing heavy freights up the hill to White Pass.
