If you want to get real accurate, the climb to
Sherman starts at Council Bluffs, IA, but becomes
more noticeable once past Julesburg, CO.

It continually climbs from Potter, NE to Archer, WY,
then there is a short downhill segment to Cheyenne.

When a westbound reaches Cheyenne, it has already
climbed to over 6,000 feet elevation.
