On a humorous note, the
DOT Western Federal Lands Highway Office is on a dead end street in Vancouver, Washington. To boot, what truncates the street is I-5 which bifurcated that part of Vancouver replacing the old US99 approaches. One of the issues that helped doom the Columbia Crossing Project, was the difficulty of placing new approaches on both sides of the Columbia.
