Yesterday afternoon, I stopped by Fullerton Station on my way back home at about 4:45 pm. I did notice several black and whites around the area parked. I parked very close to the station and could hear a locomotive. Upon reaching the platform, I noticed a Metrolink train on the southbound track and parked about 1000' short of the station. Thinking that it was waiting for another train, I then viewed signals which were red for any eastbound or southbound. Westward signals were red except for center track which showed yellow. Most northerly track had red over blank. It was at that time I spotted a yellow tarp between two of the tracks. I asked one person how long this had been the situation and the reply was about 2 hours. I then walked over to the parking structure on the west side of Harbor Blvd and was able to see more clearly the tarp with two shoes showing. Soon after, law enforcement showed up on the rails. At this time they produced a large plastic sheet and started taking photographs of the decedent. At 5 pm, the train moved to the platform and discharged everyone. One notice I could hear over the platform speakers said that ML #684 had struck "a passenger on the rails." The railroad was completely closed for the duration and probably for some time after 5:15 when I left. I have not found any news of this incident.
