"Trains with more stops would take 4 hours and 5 minutes."
"In one curved section of a Southern California tunnel, train speeds would be as low as 130 mph, according to a 2014 technical document."
Ditch Pacheco for Altamont; ditch Tehachapi for Tejon. What is the term? - market capitalization? The whole value of the Tejon Ranch is small in comparison to the $100bil cost of this thing as currently conceived. The State should have bought the Ranch at the outset to shut them up. And built the Tejon-Grapevine line to Bako as the proof of concept. Curiously and tellingly Bakersfield favored Techchapi over Tejon because it felt the latter would be too successful and too fast.
Superficially it appears the UP could now stop this whole farce in its tracks(literally). To quote James Brown: "Please, Please, Please"
