Holiday Lights Train on New Year's Eve

It's always a party down at the Boardwalk! Tonight is no exception. Santa Cruzans, along with many out-of-towners, jovially stroll along Beach Street toward Neptune's Kingdom and the Casino for a night of fun and games. Others head in the direction of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf to enjoy a cocktail (or two). The New Year is less than seven hours away.

Adding to the already festive atmosphere is the appearance of Santa Cruz, Big Trees & Pacific's prominent Holiday Lights Train. The train traditionally operates on weekends following the Thanksgiving holiday up to the day before Christmas Eve. However, due to popular demand, Big Trees & Pacific management decided to prolong and expand the dates of operation for the first time in the history of this special train.

As evening civil twilight sets in under a beaming moon, Santa Cruz, Big Trees & Pacific's Cleburne rebuild 2641 gracefully tiptoes down Beach Street with an elegantly decorated train in tow. Engineer Ben Kifle melodiously sounds the engine's Leslie RS3L horn, creating a resounding spectacle in the Beach Hill district.
