The key is Scottish Rite. Big (correct my recollection of 700 some seats) with no columns.
Large rooms with no columns for sales. Very adequate front hall. Courtyard with overhead protection on two sides for more sales. Center paved area for food service and tables. BIG parking lot with overflow to side streets and the Baptists across the street. Wide variety of motels and restaurants. Railroad variety except coal. Double track BNSF/Cal crossing double track UP/Altamont. Memories of Stockton Tower. Plus shortlines.
And most important: The people. Thanks, Carol. Thanks Vic and Roadies
The Baptists get the parking lot very few hours later.
