VR railcam chat rooms are not competition for Trainorders or any discussion forums

As many of you know, I am a member of Trainorders, and I enjoy the photos and videoas and discussions.
No chatroom can ever be any competition for any discussion forum, for the simple reason that chat content is never preserved, while on-line forum content is preserved for years, or at least for as long as the site owner pays to keep the site on line. And chat content is never searchable or organized by topic, and can range all over the map, although, in the case of the free Virtual Railfan chat rooms on YouTube, the content is very strictly limited to what is going on in the area each webcam views. Those free VirtualRailfan YouTube chat rooms have a lengthy list of rules all chatters must follow, or get messages deleted, and repeated violations will get a chatter permanently banned from the chat room. And VR does not allow links in any posts to its free YouTube chat rooms. The pay sites chats may have fewer rules,. but their chat is still never preserved or organized by topic or searchable.
So -- no, the VR chat rooms are no competition at all for Trainorders. And never will be.
