PTC diverging routes

I retired from BNSF before PTC went live.

How does PTC enforce speed restrictions over a diverging route when the governing signal uses the same signal aspect for multiple routes at the same control point? Wouldn't the computer have the same uncertainty as humans, not knowing which track you will end up on?
