Doc,

Bradley had a SS for west bound trains at the west end.
Margarita had a SS for west trains but a power switch at the east end, in CTC
SS were both ends of Castroville, CTC controlled in and out.
SS at the west end Salinas, CTC controled
SS at the East end of Wat Jct, CTC controled
SS at Logan, end of double track, CTC controlled.
SS at Sargent start of double track. CTC controlled.

On down we had them at both ends Surf. both at Sudden & east switch Conception.

Most of them were hold overs from the passenger days. It would speed up meets on hot trains.
