The Cars are easy to move. They can pull them into the UP yard to clear the track for the engines to head up to Santa Cruz. Also the washout needs repairs. The Army corp is already working on the project to get it fixed. It’s not a major fix and needs to get done. The crappy Iowa Pacific Company who can’t fix Anything has really shown their true colors. All they want to do is play trains. I watched the Sierra railroad pass my house heading to davonport many times with tanks. They had a big washout in Aptos 4 times bigger then what you see in Watsonville. They fixed it in no time. The company spent money fixing the tracks even though they didn’t own the line. At least the Sierra Railroad kept the line to davonport maintained. The tracks were accessible to davonport till 2012 when the IP took over they did absolutely nothing on the Branch line. I’ve watched the weeds and trees grow all over the tracks to the point the railroad looks dead. Ive been watching a buddy of mine who works for Roaring Camp they have a full track crew who maintains their operation from Felton to Santa Cruz. They are doing an amazing job fixing the mountain line. I hope progressive rail does something soon.
