The same was said about BART back when it was proposed. To expensive no will ride it, goes no where I need to go. I was working a day yard job at Newark on the "SP" the first day of BART operation. When we went to beans I drove up to Fremont and rode it to Oakland and back. Never forget my Conductors face when I told him what I did. The Conductor on the other hand spent his time at a local bar. Bart is still with us and high speed rail will come.
