If you want the best reception get what the RR's use. I use a Kenwood TK-290. Looks like you can get them cheap on Ebay now. Get the programming equipment, although old it is easy to use. Radio has 160 channels and you can set up banks to save your favorite combo of channels for various locations. Older model but handles the narrowbanding fine. Sturdy.
