Metrolink - new station at Burbank Airport (Antelope Valley Line)

A new Metrolink station opens Monday on the Antelope Valley Line for Hollywood Burbank Airport. The station will be about a mile north of the current terminal, with shuttle bus service to take passengers the last mile. (If ever the replacement terminal gets built, then this station might actually be closer than the existing Burbank Airport station on the Ventura line.)
This is a very good use of public funds, as it will provide additional service to the airport (from downtown) and brand new service (from Palmdale, Lancaster, and the Santa Clarita Valley). Two concerns, though:
(1) This station is only accessible to "big" San Fernando Road. There are a lot of businesses on "little" San Fernando Road, and areas to park. Why wasn't there an access path to "little" San Fernando Road? Of course that would've increased the cost of this project, but wouldn't the additional accessibility been better?
(2) What happens to the Sun Valley station? It's a mile or so north. I don't think it's ever really seen a lot of ridership.
