When the Big Boy 4014 was moved out to SoCal for display at Pomona Fairgrounds, it was the first time any Big Boy had traversed Santa Fe's Cajon Pass trackage. The many SFe officials on hand were very observant, and a bit nervous, of the trackage around Summit. Remember too, that 4014 was dead-in-tow, without the extra dynamic forces that powered drivers ( and a full tender ) would have exerted on the rail.
