Very Nice. Those few months in mid - 1985 when the new ( Caltrain F-40's and HEP bi - level commuter cars ) and the old ( Espee Geeps, SDP's, Gallery Cars and Harrimans ) ran side - by - side. 1985 was my first Winterail, and I also captured the Commutes on film, as well as Stockton & Niles Towers. Santa Fe's Pittsburg depot and China Basin facilities too.
Part 1 at 4:30 or so, why did the cameraman pan away from the California Doubles equipment ??? That cab - over / day - cab Freightliner and 28 foot 96 inch wide roll - up door pup were just as iconic as the Commute Geeps and gallery cars. And just as much gone nowadays...
