First off there will be in due course a station in Los Banos. Who do you think runs California? Hint: it is not the eunuch Sierra Club.

And eventually there will be a confrontation at Lebec. I am not sure of the details in the Constitution but the principle is definitely there: erecting tolls on a natural choke point(say a key mountain pass connecting important geographical regions)is not acceptable. There is not bigger "toll" than an embargo and the Ranch is not going to be able to get away with it forever. The highway lobby is immensely powerful and if they resolve to massively expand I-5 thru the Grapevine the Tejon Ranch Co. does not possess enough stooges, flunkies, toadies like Jerry to stop it.
