Yes, that stupid "mediocre" "incrementalism" "plodding" along using stupid things like competent "analysis" of our needs and the costs and benefits of the many ways we might meet them, building upon our experience, based on real trial and error, applying the practical and useful, to improve our lives, now.
Now doesn't that just suck.....?
Is that the same kind of "mediocre" incremental approach James Watts used to systematically analyze and improve the steam engine?
Yes, since you can't point to anything but grandiose numbers about on our lack of manhood in the international "size" war for the miles of "true" HSR, and not just some mediocre rail system improvements that would merely meet some of our many real and pressing travel demands and/or deficiencies.
Show me the ridership estimates by station, and show me a rational basis and a data set that supports the modeling of that, and that shows me how much is diverted from future aviation, how much from auto, how much from bus, how much from rail. And from a breakdown of that estimate, by station to station, the fare levels, and the cash flow from fares to support demand for or operation of this level of investment and this most costly of technical approaches to delivering and operating rail passenger service........?
Of course, and as usual, you need not present any arguments to support the actual demand or need for the bloated boondoggle that we have chosen to build. That is except for a need to build HSR in order to alleviate America's HSR "mileage" inferiority complex.
Rather, you describe those who dare to criticize this great "visionary" venture as advocating something apparently awful that you like to call "mediocre incrementalism". Which, when you really think of it, is actually a pretty meaningless meme, that you've chosen to use, since you have no other good arguments, in order to try to delegitimize such critics as somehow "mediocre" in their thinking....right?
Nice try...... But, it's nothing but sophomoric sophistry (aka bull$#it) of the highest form, proving you're a very clever fellow.....
Now, can you please go back to work, wasting my taxpayer dollars.....
